Correction: Article About IRS and Compensation

An article about a speech by an Internal Revenue Service official misstated the tax agency's concerns about compensation of fund raisers. Judith Kindell says she was reminding fund raisers that the new version of the informational tax returns charities file asks detailed questions about the compensation provided to professional fund-raising companies that charities hire and the relationships of those companies to an organization's board and executives. She was not suggesting that the IRS was scrutinizing pay of fund raisers who work on the staffs of nonprofit groups. She noted in her comments that chief executives are under scrutiny, and since they often do a lot of fund raising, people who work in development offices should be aware of the tax agency's investigation of CEO pay.
