Becoming a spectActor

Becoming a spectActor: a Cypriot workshop and performance of "Theatre of the Oppressed"

«Theatre is a form of knowledge: it should and can also be a means of transforming society. Theatre can help us build our future, rather than just waiting for it.
This is theatre – the art of looking at ourselves» - Augusto Boal

MAIN IDEA OF THE ACTIVITY

On the performance day which will be held on the 11th of October 2010, 9:00pm in Nicosia at Goethe-Zentrum Library, the spectators will have the opportunity to become spectActors; they will have the opportunity to stop the play, which is usually about a character being oppressed, and suggest different actions to be carried out on stage.
