First Things First - Make Your Passion Your Profession

Insider Tip #1:
First Things First - Make Your Passion Your Profession

Insider Tip #1 is all about finding your passion.
In the midst of a recession, it is easy to focus on the results—finding the "right" job, the "stable" job, the "high-paying" job—the job that is "secure." Though job and financial security is certainly important during tough economic times, it is still crucial to listen to your own inner voice.
Once you begin this form of self-reflection, the next step is to ask yourself the right questions.

Howard Thurman, a prominent civil rights leader, and former Dean of Howard University & Boston University, once said: "Don't ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."

What Makes YOU Come Alive?

Maybe you have already earned a high school diploma, an associate's degree, or a bachelor's degree. Or maybe you aren't quite there yet, but want to pursue one or more of these degree programs.
Regardless of where you currently are in your educational journey, to advance, you have to ask yourself these questions:

What makes me come alive?

What am I passionate about?

What gets me out of bed in the morning?

Write these questions down, and then write down your answers. You may be surprised to see that your current job may not be quenching your thirst. If it's not, then do something about it!

Education: A Practical Vehicle to Pursue Your Passion

Once you've done some soul searching and have identified what you're truly passionate about, the next step is finding a degree program that will give you the practical and marketable skills that employers desire. If you feel a calling to help people overcome obstacles in their lives, why not look into online psychology degree programs? If you love to get your hands dirty and fix cars, why not explore automotive and vehicle degree programs?
Combining specialized education with the passion you already have is like strapping a rocket pack on your back.
Not only will you have the burning desire to do what you love, you will have the tangible skills employers look for to back it up.
