Wednesday, September 12, 2012 Building an Evangelistic Church by Jerry Vines Winning souls for Christ is the main business of the church. In his sermon "Building an Evangelistic Church" Jerry Vines states "God must work in the church before He can work through the church. We must have a ministry of inward edification and a ministry of outward multiplication." Evangelism should be the primary goal of the church. However, it shouldn't be the only focus of the church. If churches spend all of their time and energy working on evangelism, their church will not grow spiritually. This would result in people becoming saved but never maturing in their faith. However, it is important to minister to the members of the church. It is important for the members of the church to be discipled so that they can go out and fulfill the Great Commission.
