Christians are not eccentric. An eccentric object wobbles around a point that is off-center. But that is what the Bible calls "the world." It is not believers, evangelists, witnesses or Christians who are eccentric, but the world. The world wobbles, but the believer is centered on God. The question is not whether the message can be related to this world, but whether the world is willing to relate to the message of the Cross. If not, it will be judged at the Cross. Relevance is a matter of position and focus. We are only relevant when we relate to what the Holy Spirit is doing. We are often told our ministry has to be geared to the times. Nonsense.
