The apostle Paul wrote to the Philippian Christians:
"Knowing that I am set for the Defense of the Gospel." Philippians 1:17.
To many Christians this no doubt is strange language! Perhaps they have never heard or were never taught of such a thing, but in a time of compromise, apostasy, and unparalleled deceptions, Defenders of the Gospel of Christ are needed more than ever before!
What a great servant of God the apostle Paul was! Not only he preached the Gospel of Christ without compromise, but he was also a Defender of the Gospel! No doubt, he was the greatest Defender of all times!
He did not fellowship with compromisers, and he never tolerated the false teachers/preachers, as most do today in the name of love and unity! Many today are deceived in the name of love and unity, a false love, and a false unity void of the truth of the Word of God!
Of course, being a Defender of the Gospel, and taking a stand against the false preachers and their deceptions, there is a price to be paid, as the world, and the compromising professing Christians will resent you, put you down, ridicule you, and say all kinds of things against you! But no matter how strong the pressure, we must stand our ground!
When the apostle Paul confronted the false teachers/brethren in the Galatian churches, he wrote: "And because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the Gospel might continue with you." Galatians 2:4,5.
Christian friend, watch out who you fellowship with, you could be fellowship with false brethren, as there are many of them in our apostate time!
