(ONE-YEAR-OLD PIT BULL TETHERED OUTDOORS WITHOUT ACCESS TO ADEQUATE FOOD, WATER OR SHELTER BY HER OWNER HUBERT JOSEPH GUS HENRY)

BACKGROUND REGARDING OFFENCE: 

In Esquimalt, British Columbia, Canada, on May 18, 2013, a one-year-old pit bull named Skylar was seized by SPCA special constables and taken into their care.

Skylar was owned by Hubert Joseph Gus Henry, who has been charged with one count of "failing to provide suitable and adequate food, water, shelter and care for an animal" under the Criminal Code of Canada as well as one count of "causing an animal to continue to be in distress" under the British Columbia Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. 

Henry was also found guilty of animal cruelty in 2009 for the neglect of two pit bulls. 

Those dogs, as well as Skylar, are now all happy, healthy, and loved in adopted homes.

If convicted, Henry faces up to 5 years in jail and/or a $10,000 fine on the federal charge or up to 2 years in jail and a fine of up to $75,000 on the provincial charge. 

Henry makes his first court appearance at the Victoria Court House on August 26, 2013.

Please sign and share this petition to Crown Counsel and the judge to get justice for Skylar.
