Territorial Analysis of the Country-specific Recommendations for 2019

In 2019, 137 sub-recommendations - i.e., single recommendations included in the broader CSRs as numbered by the Commission - were either directly/indirectly addressed to LRAs or had a territorial impact, up from 120 in 2018. These CSRs, which we call "territory-related", represent 62% of all CSRs. This and other findings of the CoR's territorial analysis of the 2019 confirm the key role of EU cities and regions in delivering on the CSRs, and the need to involve them as partners in designing the National Reform Programmes.

The President of the European Committee of the Regions, Karl-Heinz Lambertz, said on the occasion of the election of Ursula von der Leyen by the European Parliament as the President of the European Commission: "I would like to congratulate Ursula von der Leyen on her election. The European Committee of the Regions looks forward to welcoming her to present her agenda for Europe to the EU's assembly of locally and regionally elected representatives."

Committee of the Regions delegation meets Israeli peers

Leading members of the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) met the Federation of Local Authorities in Israel on 2 July during a brief visit to Tel Aviv intended to strengthen cooperation.
